These roofs are often bridle and hard to walk on. Palomar Solar has designed a way to install solar systems on these roofs by reinforcing the roof with composite shingles underneath the solar system, then framing around the panels with clay tiles to keep the home existing esthetics.

Lite Tile
Comp & Frame Required
Lite tile roofs are made from materials that are designed to mimic the look of traditional roofing tiles, such as clay or concrete tiles, but are lighter in weight and easier to install. These roofing materials are made from a combination of different materials, including concrete, fiberglass, and other synthetic materials, and are designed to provide the aesthetic appeal of traditional roofing tiles with the ease of installation.
Comp & Frame
The concrete tiles are removed as part installation process and replaced with composition materials instead of new paper and the old concrete tiles. The area exactly matches the size of the appropriately designed solar system of your house. As composite materials are minimal in size, the solar rack mounts can sit much lower on the roof. This gives the appears they are actually part of the roof. The remaining concrete tiles are cut to ensure clean fit around the panels.

Additionally, standard composite roofing is often backed by long-term warranties from the manufacturer, providing building owners with added peace of mind. Overall, standard composite roofing is a versatile and cost-effective option for those looking for a reliable and low-maintenance roofing solution.
