Bryce hails from a vibrant family in New Orleans, Louisiana, where he developed a love for delicious food, fishing, and the rich music culture that still inspires him today. While studying at Louisiana State University, he caught the attention of a recruiter for a home security company, leading him to spend his summers in sales on the east coast. After graduating with a degree in science, Bryce transitioned to a full-time role, where he thrived for three more years.

Seeking to make a more significant impact, Bryce pivoted to the solar industry and moved to San Diego. Now, eight years later, he brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the Palomar team, where he has been an invaluable asset for the past three years. His blend of expertise and passion aligns perfectly with our culture, driving meaningful change in the renewable energy space.

Most Memorable Experience in Solar

I helped a neighbor go solar in Encinitas, and through that connection, I was introduced to a friend in Orange County who was also interested in solar. After helping them make the switch, we hit it off and I decided to throw a driveway taco party for them and their neighbors. It turned out to be a great way to connect! That event led to us assisting over six more families on their street with their solar and roofing projects. It’s amazing to see how one connection can lead to so many positive changes in the community!

What excites you about the next ten years in solar

I’m most excited about battery technology. Overall, advancements in battery technology could transform how we generate, store, and use energy, fostering a more sustainable and efficient future.

Industrial Applications: Improved batteries could support large-scale applications in industries like transportation, construction, and agriculture, leading to more sustainable practices.

Decentralized Energy Systems: Communities could establish microgrids powered by local renewable sources, supported by advanced battery storage, promoting sustainability and energy resilience.

Electric Vehicle (EV) Growth: Advances in battery technology could enhance the range, charging speed, and affordability of EVs, making them more appealing and accessible to consumers.

Some technology is unproven, some unsafe, and some are in beta phases. In a world that is transitioning to run on electricity, a dramatic improvement in battery technology seems imminent. If batteries can be smaller, sustainably sourced, and capable of immense storage and output capacity, we would see dramatic changes in society at a very accelerated pace.
