Time on site: 5 days.
Project Description:
The homeowner was adding a five car garage and wanted to incorporate the panels in the roof. The main home was clay tile which is the most expensive to install on. So we saved the homeowner a significant amount of money by installing a comp shingle roof where the arrays were to be placed. After we installed the solar panels we had clay tiles installed to frame the system and match the existing roof on the home. It turned out great! The other challenge was the main electrical panel was not capable of back feeding the amount of solar we were installing so we had to do a line side tap of his main panel. Finally, most solar contractors will not get involved during construction because they do not like working amongst other contractors. We believe the best thing to do is to come in during framing to run all conduit within the walls for a much cleaner look. It requires and extra trip or two but in the end it’s the right thing to do!
